How it works

Before, during and after every match.

The score in your team's colours, the scorers, the cards and a clock that keeps running. Before the game it shows the next kick-off; after it, the result.

Before kick-off: 0–0, the kick-off time 15:00 and the fixture with its date
Before the gameThe next kick-off, always upWho's next and when, in UK time.
A live match: 2–1 in the 67th minute, with the scorers, a second yellow and the half-time divider
During the gameEvery goal as it goes inUpdates every 5 to 15 seconds while your team is playing.
Full time: 2–1, with the last moments of the match and the full-time divider
After full timeThe result stays upFor about three hours, then on to the next fixture.

Simulated display. Screens shown are generated by the box's own display code from sample match data, not photos of a finished unit.

Colours

Eight case colours.

The body of the box is 3D-printed in one of eight colours, with a white face. Case colour is the physical box; the team colours on the screen are separate and come from your club.

What's in the box

Where it's at

Made by a small UK company, still in development.

FootyBox is designed by FootyBox Ltd, a UK company. Cases are 3D-printed in the UK. Here is what's true today.

Working now
The screens, alerts and touch match list run in a simulator on real match data, and case prototypes have been printed.
Still to do
Running the finished software on the production display board, testing across whole live matches, and the live-scores service for boxes.
What you're seeing
The box pictures here are 3D renders, and the screens are a simulation. We'll add photos and video of the working prototype when we have them.
What does it cost?

On Kickstarter the first 50 boxes are £59; later pledges are £69, £75, or a £135 two-pack. After the campaign it's £99. Two years of live scores are included, then optional £12 a year. Without renewal the box still shows your team's latest result and next fixture, updated once a day.

Does joining the list reserve a box or the £59 price?

No. Joining is free, takes no payment and reserves nothing. We email you when the Kickstarter goes live; the £59 price goes to the first 50 pledges there.

Is it a streaming service?

No. It's a small physical scoreboard that shows the score, clock and alerts. It never shows match video.

What Wi-Fi and power does it need?

A 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi network, and USB-C power from any phone charger (not included). It uses 2.5 W at most.
